Frost less than 25%. 32 degrees. Overcast sky. NO Wind.-----Yesterday, strong wind gusts and winds. Cold front, Temp. from 56 degrees at 7:00 a.m to 40 degrees at 11:11 a.m. ----- Rain at 7:35a-7:40a, 8:00a-8:07a, 9:58- sprinkles then very light rain in the wind that at 10:38a became snow flakes and quit at 10:50a.-----RIVER: Highest to date. On my fixed, on the shore, permanent walking platform water is easily 6--6.5' above the shoreline sand. AT the bolts that connect the 4' stairs to the water dock. I was walking in trace water as it is just above the platforms. Water is 21" over the WI DNR approved rock erosion barrier "wall" and over the 1st lift in my restoration shoreline system.-----Like every year, they keep the Town of Niagara (their "downtown") from flooding as they built homes, churches, businesses and a section of the 141 highway on a natural flood plain back in the late 1800's-early 1900's. Niagara had built a paper mill back then and constructed a dam at the waterfall there and well houses, business and such followed next to it. |
