| Condition Monitoring Report – April 2025
Location: Maryland Heights, MO
Reporting Period: January 1 – April 30, 2025
As of April 30, total precipitation for the month reached 228% of normal, marking the wettest Jan 1–Apr 30 period I’ve recorded in the past five seasons. This significant rainfall has led to very moist soils, vigorous vegetative growth, and no observable signs of drought stress.
Grasses are growing rapidly, including in unmanaged areas, and seasonal water features (ponds, ditches, streams) are full or near capacity. The landscape is noticeably greener than usual for this time of year.
Conditions are currently favorable, though continued monitoring will be important as evapotranspiration increases with the onset of warmer temperatures in May and June. |

| After a nice April, temperature wise, we had only 3.26" of our normal 3.76" of rain. Wed had 3 frosts mid month and only two days in the mid 80's the entire month for our warmest days: (85 on the 4th and 84 on the 5th). It was one of the nicest Aprils in recent history. No killer frost(s) for our big strawberry producing county. Best strawberry crop in years. Crops and livestock in good shape. Wildlife , crops and yards all in good shape. Water quality and quantity good . |

| For the month of April, 1.91 inches of rain was reported in the San Antonio area. This is 0.51 inch less than the April historical average. Rain gauge total was 2.40 inches. The lack of rainfall created severely dry conditions, resulting in more landscape watering and less water available for plants and wildlife. The Edwards Aquifer levels ranged from 625.3-630.6 feet with an average of about 628.2 feet. April historical average is 666.2 feet. Stage 3 Year Round watering restrictions remained in effect and the region is still in a five year drought. Wildfire threat was slightly lower. Average low and high temperatures were 60 and 80 degrees, with low and high temperatures recorded at 39 and 93 degrees, respectively. Energy costs were moderate due to milder temperatures. |
